Napoleon bonaparte invaded egypt in 17 98 with his forces. He also brought along with him, very importantly, a hundred and 50 savants. These were really ed people, architects, engineers, scholars who would study all o the great things of e Egypt. They explored temples and tombs and looked at mummies and old zodiac signs. And it started this craze that we're talking about, which we're calling "egyptomania"
