O feeling, feeling sorry for someone is not a moral virtue. You need more than ampathy to get by in the world. It's unsophisticated thinking to assume that reflexive sampathy towards those who are hypothetically unfairly victimized constitutes amoral virtue. And it can be very, very dangerous, because you can undermine people by inappropriately feeling sorry for them. That runs contrary to reflecife ampathy.
