Every second astronomy story is about aliens being found. We have to accept that this is the culture we're swimming in when it comes to science communication. As we improve in science and technology, we necessarily improve our moral knowledge. So we become more moral. And I went on: Our knowledge of history is a record not merely of scientific progress. It is also evidence of moral progress. The explanation of how we escaped many tribal moral errors applies equally to our future. How do you determine what is a moral error? I said, as with anything else, by trying to come up with a better explanation. Maybe I haven't responded to your question yet but here's my answer.
