The red dress that the handmaids wear with the white bonnets is what you have to wear if you're a handmade That's why people wear that and show up to things where supposedly women are being sexually oppressed. In one of the interviews Elizabeth Moss who plays uh the main character Offered also was talking about what's the reason why women are infertile because It may have had to do with a climate change. The book acknowledges many things like it doesn't It has a very shallow view of what an actual Christian Theonomy would look like but it is a good enough story in and of itself.
