The History of Mental Hospitals

Billy Bly's reporting led to a grand jury investigation and some changes in how things were done. There were periodic reform efforts to improve the care of the mental ill. By the mid-20th century, another such effort was underway here in America. As science advanced, it brought new techniques that came in for a great deal of criticism.
