I think that one shouldn't intend tonally provoke people. Isn't that your job as a philosopher? Good. I don't always walk it well, between provoking people in such a way that you make them feel like they lose hold of their moral sensibility and facilitating their inquiry into their own moral sensibility. It can be so hard to tell the difference between those two things. But none the less, i think if if you can tell the what you're doing is simply provocation, ah, then i think you shouldn't do it. Yes, it's worth the risk.
