i am struck in this reading by the presence of all creation, in the sense that you have the announcement of the birth in quick succession to shepherds their sheep angels. And i think that we get a little indication of what is to come and the universality of that offer at christmas. In choosing his vocation, as it were, he kind of unleashes for us, or uncovers for us, infinite riches of the godhead.
