The Problem With Ecological Thinking
Bateson is speaking in a more systemic way. He's very theoretical. And like in all, you know, this is an inherent problem in thinking ecologically. Do human individuals sort of sink into the system? When we think in terms of maybe the human species instead of human individuals, does every individual then become equal to every other? So do we lose the hierarchies that we're fighting about in the social world? You know what I'm saying? It becomes a way to kind of evade the ongoing conflict between the weak and the strong,. The oppressors and the oppressed.
