During the depression, in the new deal years, 19 35. 15 million white people actually were excluded. And i think this is really important if we want to understand the mechanisms of what could be called structural racism. For black and brown workers was that they were already in a more marginalized position in the economy. So when whole categories of workers got excluded, they were more likely to bex ded.
