School districts nationwide have adopted an "out-of-sight, out-of-mind" policy regarding smartphones. However, not all states (and students) are on board. In New York, Governor Kathy Hochul has proposed a "bell-to-bell" ban for K-12 students. In neighboring New Jersey, the Ramsey School District has adopted a similar policy.
