Marxism and Bottom-Up Democracy

I think the history of Marxism shows that that is a problem that needs to be worked against and I think the best ultimate remedy for that is that precisely that dialectical relationship with bottom-up democratic structures built in already. Even in the Russian Revolution we saw these the Soviets for example these attempts at building this bottom-up structure that might have been an interplay with a more top-down structure but because of subsequent events those things veered away from what they were trying to do. We should absolutely learn from that as Marxists generally really need to to continue to wrestle with it.
