Henry Wallace, the Vice President of the United States
Henry Wallace was very popular, second most popular politician in the United States. And he said certain things that kind of give you a hint as to his mentality. If we define an American fascist as one who in case of conflict puts money in power ahead of human beings, then there are undoubtedly several million fascists in the U.S. So this was a contradiction at the time. It really shows how weak the US democracy was even at its strongest point.
