Fundamental constants: is the universe fine tuned for life to exist?
Great Mysteries of Physics
The Dark Energy Problem
Fred Adams from the University of Michigan has done a lot of research on just how fine-tuned the universe really is. And he says it may be more robust than physicists have so far given it credit for. If you want to say whether or not stars work, you have to solve the stellar structure equations. Stars are of key importance when it comes to fine-tuning because they've ultimately created all the carbon and other elements that life is made of. Without stars, there'd be no pleasantly warm planets or moons for life to evolve on.
