The Politics of the Russian Invasion
There was a lot of self-congratulatory rhetoric about the sanctions regimes that were being imposed on Russia by the United States, by European countries. But it's important to understand that just as war is an extension of politics by other means, sanctions are simply part of warfare. And so the politics of this conflict drive, in many ways, the flaws in the response that you've seen via our sanctions regime.
