The only thing that's gone up is money like that's the one value that people have placed greater and greater emphasis on right so this is the Robert Putnam argument um the bowling alone thing which and there's been many other studies which is even better than his I think around this issue. The thinning out of civic society and of civic culture is a vehicle for the rise of authoritarian regimes, he says.
