What's Esquivel's Sound Like?
We don't know when he died or where he's buried, because again, the records of the cathedral are mostly gone. Esquivel was very much a disciple of Guerrero and used his motets for parody masses. And that sound is, oh gosh, hard to say. It doesn't have the nice melodic sounds that we get from Morales or Victoria.
