Powell has been the head of the Fed for nine years, but many Wall Street analysts are hearing different messages from him than they're seeing. He keeps on insisting that he's going to keep interest rates high - something no one is used to with a central bank chief in his 40s and 50s. You don't think he'll go wobble. And yet it doesn't matter how often or in different ways that Powell is questioned and probed and pressed, he keeps coming back and saying the same exact thing until we get the inflation back down to 2% target quit asking me.
