The Origin of the Tea Plant

The plant is indigenous to the Assam region of India in addition to southwestern China. It seems that it was little known or used in India prior to the 6th century CE. In one version, he grows so sleepy that he reaches out and he grabs a leaf like a random leaf and he just shoves it in his mouth as a way to perk himself up. There's another version of this tale and this one I got in trouble for sharing of the dinner table in my post research excitement.
