Is Envy a Bad Thing?

In Romans 11, Paul says that he magnifies his ministry to the Gentiles in order somehow to make my fellow Jews jealous or envious. This kind of desire is right in itself and to arouse it can be realistic motive in ministry. It's right for us to look and envy that holiness. Not so we can steal it from them. We don't want to take it from them, but we're just saying, I'm missing that in my life. You see, that's a good envy because it's a good desire.
