Character driven stories are primarily driven by inner conflict. This could be anything from crippling self doubt to some kind of wound from the past, or maybe a debilitating fear that's holding the protagonist back from living their best life. There are three inter content genres: morality, status and world view. The eighth external content genre is war, like platoon or the hurt locker. And the inth external contentgenre is western, so like tombstone or true grit. Now i'm sure a lot of you are wondering why i didn't mention science fiction or fantasy in the list of content genres. That's because fantasy and science fiction are commercial genres, or consumer facing labels, but they aren't content genres
