Redfern, the Beating Heart of Aboriginal Sydney
Radio redfern was the nerve center for electrifying protests organized in sydney on what the government called australia day. Coris from all over southern australia came to redfern in the 19 twenties to work in the eveley railway workshop and the factories there. They built a community that eventually launched the fight for aboriginal civil rits. Radio redfan, core's predecessor was born in the 19 eighties out of the fizzing art and music scene centred on the block where many first nation's people lived. It took years of test broadcasts before it finally got a full time license in two thousand and two marline cummins was there from the beginning.
