The Importance of Suffering for AI
The idea that we could even do it is extremely debatable at best. To not grant it free will or consciousness, but still giving it the ability to feel well would be cruelty. And yet just to bring this back to the inevitable conclusion, if we don't do this, what does our future with artificial intelligence look like?Will we ever be comfortable? Will we ever be able to coexist? I like to say that the difference between humans and AI is increasingly becoming that we're the ones asking the questions, so we should make them good ones.
