There are sometimes a clients do make requests like this, no because they are acting childish, but because they actually have an ulterior motive. They actually want to test the loyalties or ability of the wealth manager. I wasn't sitting across from a japanese fellow who wanted a thousand sides of smoke salmon. I just needed to see that you had the connections and the will to do what i wanted when i wanted and not ask any questions. It was almost a test of his ability to jump in and so perform this outlandish request,. perhaps a guide to other requests that would come later down the road.
