Sales, Finance, Product and Engineering - Is That the Same Playbook?

When you're talking about like sales or finance, it seems like those departments have well established playbooks. For product and engineering, I feel like there isn't as strong of a like, this is the one way to do things. In GitHub's case, what made them world class was, it was not an enterprise ready product in 2017 but they were still selling it to a remarkable degree.
