The Difference Between in Sync and Straight Pure Pop

I think what happened on the second album is the strokes went way too hard in the paint with apping the cars and people just couldn't take it anymore. If you listen to the lead single 1251 that's the cars man. Unfrickable sin. The shitty cars. But the strokes were just trying to give people what they wanted which is a horrible thing to make music. How is that any fucking different than your label some suit at your label sitting you down telling you we've decided how your next album is going to sound. It's one person telling you or another. Why do we even need you? That's not I don't want that shit. Be selfish as fuck
