How Roger Ailes Helped Build Fox News
Fox News was kind of born of jealousy, Murdoch basically wanted a network that could compete with CNN and to build it he hired Roger Ailes. He started off early on as a producer on the Mike Douglas show, a talk show run out of Philadelphia through which work he hooked up with the Richard Nixon campaign in 1968. Became a sort of media consultant and guru to that campaign who among other things produced these sort of proto reality shows for Nixon called the Nixon answer.
