Gary's First Divorce

Dr. James Burt filed for divorce from his first wife in the U.S., but then moved to Mexico where he could get a divorce without her consent. The law doesn't allow him to do that, even though it would be legal if he had done so before moving there. Dr. Burt was an obstetrician whose job involved repairing episiotomies - surgical cuts made at the opening of the vagina during childbirth. Episiotomies were extremely painful and permanently altered many people's ability to enjoy vaginal sex after childbirth.
