Somantic Theories of Reference and Accessibility

Somantic theory says that our words latch on to things in reality. Frage and russell have this view that our words stand in for descriptions a the concepts, and our concepts fit those things. But there are loads of counter examples. You can have in your concept the man over there drinking champagne as the thing that the name tom stands in for - but he's actually drinking sparkling water. And so cripy in the seventies asks orl he tells us what is it that i successfully refert the name tom.
