Carbon Black as an Anode for Lithium Ion Batteries?
Carbon black is used to make the anodes for lithium ion batteries specifically. The production of graphite is pretty dirty, and so this is a much cleaner way to do it. Carbon black has unique structures that help it perform better than graphite as an anode.
