John Jerdy and the Shopping Mall
John jerdy is a very important post modern architect, but he's often left out of the account of post modernism because he was a mall architect. His most famous mall is the mal of america, where instead of there being a nice, tasteful fountain in the centre, there is a roller gost andi. But his genius was really to understand that people wanted to be wooed, almost sinematically, to move through them all. So then you get something like universal city walk downtown los angeles, where king kong is popping out of one building, and there's a splash pad somewhere else.
