The Chinese say guardrails are asymmetrically advantageous to the United States. The day may come when we're going to have Chinese aircraft flying off our coast, and we'll see how well we accept the same kind of response. It would be good to accept the need for strategic communication prior to our version of the Cuban missile crisis.
