McLaren's Decision to Change to Soft Tyres

Norris was the fastest car on track for four laps in a row once rain started. McLaren changed to soft tyres because they thought it would be better than slicks. It worked out perfectly and Norris ended up 7th, which is probably nothing more he could have achieved or expected given where he was in the first in. Oscar finishing second in the sprint and Lando getting back into seventh in the Grand Prix wouldn't have been possible without bigger rear wing. Pierre Gasly managed third in the sprint race but Esteban Ocon finished eighth at Monza.
