The Dead Man's Foot
There was deep blue bruising all across the top of his foot. Bill is just over six feet tall, so it was awkward walking a mile uphill with half his body weight on my shoulder. I fed him the last of the dead man's aspirin and elevated his foot. There is nothing else. No food, and nothing to catch food with. We were as safe as we could hope to be.
