How to Use Python to Build Websites

Django was created by Frank Wiles and Adrian Smith in 2002. The CMS is based on mod Python, the Apache module for building websites. It's designed to be an 'insurance policy' against a lack of interest in Mod Python. Django has its own thin abstraction layer that allows it to work with many different programming languages.
