Suncorp has divested seven business lines for $6 billion in the past four years. The company is focusing on simplifying its organisation to gain wins and provide a competitive advantage externally, says Mr O'Farrell. Inefficiency in corporate development can be caused by lack of preparation or due diligence as well as M&A teams who are not running at their own pace.
