The Future of RSV Vaccines

Despite many efforts since the virus was first identified back in the 1950s, there's still no vaccine. Three vaccines have shown to be effective at preventing RSV infections in elderly. And one of these three vaccines has also been shown to protect babies age six months or less. There's also a long lasting antibody treatment that can protect babies from infections over an entire winter. That's already been approved in Europe and is awaiting approval in the US.
