Is Twitter a Good Job Security for a Journalist?
Having a big Twitter account for a journalist or a writer is in its own way a kind of job security because it could make it harder for your publication to fire you. On the other hand, you're sort of also signing yourself up for this social media dynamic where you get attention and you therefore get that job security by getting in fights. And then with sub stack, there's this additional element where if you have your sub stack, you then have an incentive to be even more incendiary to drive people toward your newsletter. It sounds like a pretty unpleasant cycle to be completely honest.
