CDC Recommends COVID in 75% of Counties
Under the new system you can have twice the rate of COVID transmission that would previously have qualified as high in the area where you live and your area will still be counted as low. This new substantially higher case threshold is used really only as a modifier for the principal metrics they are now taking into account which are the following to one percentage of occupied hospital beds in the county. And two, rate of new COVID hospital admissions. So not just rhetorically but in policy every COVID crank got their fucking wish, which is COVID cases were enormously deprioritized in favor of looking at hospitalization.
