The cycle does change with the fluctuating levels of estrogen and progesterone. And that does affect the GI tract also. It can be different from woman to woman, but it tends to be consistent within an individual person. So women will say, I always get diarrhea before my period; somebody else will says, I tend to be more constipated. The body's all connected. You can't sort of just look at one system without thinking about the effect on the others.
