Orientalism and Sexuality in the Orient
Said: The Orient embodies a real sexual perversity that Europe found to be very interesting. So people would treat it in Said's words as a place where one could look for sexual experience unobtainable in Europe. And again, this flies in the face of Foucault's central thesis in the history of sexuality. But now we're going to get into Orientalism in the 20th century and how the West formalized and crafted the Orient.
