The Dangers of Smoking Cannabis
The proportion of schizophrenia cases linked with problematic use of marijuana has increased over the past 25 years. People who use cannabis heavily are affected more heavily and it's one of the reasons there's an outbreak of violence in this country. Medical cannabis might be a helpful therapy for some people who have chronic pain, but it's unlikely to benefit most according to new clinical guidelines published in the journal British Medical Journal. Even as medical marijuana has been legalized in many US states and Washington, DC, health care providers and patients have had little guidance on when it's appropriate to use,. It's not a panacea. And many people may not even be getting what they think they're getting.
