President Grant suggested the same name he'd been suggesting for years. As they prayed about it, President Grant said it became crystal clear that the Lord was calling not my best lifelong personal friend, but rather a relative stranger. And in the process, President Grant and his fellow apostles had it. Clarified and confirmed to them, the Lord's in charge, it's his church. Peter wants to make sure it's that way. The lot fell upon Matthias, and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
