The Nostalgia of the Late 20th Century

The NYT is full of something you see in the NYT all the time, nostalgia for the late 20th century. It's harder to get big agreements when you're in this adversarial engagement, both with Russia and with China. I think that's what Britain would have done, like with the US in the late 19th century.
