A dulla comes from the greek word dulo or dulios, which means a slave woman. A birth keeper is someone that holds true what women go through when they're pregnant and post pardem in enduring the ceremony of actually giving birth. The difference between a dulla and a midwife would be, a midwife is someone that is medically trained to watch a woman as she burks. Rather, a dulla is someone that has no medical training at all.
