What Is Affirmative Action?

The vast majority of colleges in the United States are not practicing affirmative action. They're either open admissions or accepting over half, you know, 80, 90% of applicants. But it's only in colleges that have more applicants who they think can be successful on their college campus than they have space for. In those kinds of places, admissions is a very complex process where they're looking at a whole range of things.
