How Many Political Parties Are There in Taiwan?
The Green Party was established in 1996 during the cross-strait missile crisis. The party won a national assembly seat in its first election in 1996. In recent elections, it's come closest to entering the legislative UN in 2016 and 2020. But both times it ultimately fell short of that 5% that you need to get into parliament.
