I think the most important thing is find a resource that works for you essentially. Find out what your mates like and see if you like it too. I've got some really job, I've been extremely lucky over my comparatively short career with good peer review. A nice long winded thing a lot of the time turns into can you add an extra thousand words of all the shit I like. This may be specific to physiology to some degree, but I didn't think I've ever published a paper. And I'm sure we have listeners of the show that themselves want to actually improve their statistical literacy.
