$4.5 billion set aside under the Inflation Reduction Act to help consumers ditch gas appliances and go electric. Hydroflora carbon refrigerants, which have high global warming potentials if they leak, are being replaced with more benign, so-called natural refrigerants, like propane. Vayland, Bosch and other manufacturers have launched models that deliver heat efficiently at up to 75 degrees centigrade. Add in intelligent home management systems and it is clear we're at the start of a domestic heating revolution.
