Alice missed the conference in Chicago because she needed to see a neurologist. She feels like they're their family and they share life events together. So at this party, John was talking to Eric and Marjorie,. the host and then Dan, which is her graduate student arrived and introduced his new wife. The woman looks nervously at Dan and says, I'm Beth. Alice says, do you work for Marty? The woman says, I am Dan's wife.
