Why Isn't She Pledging to Reverse That?
Brainard: If the fed goal is two % inflation per year, and we just had seven % in one year, that's three and a half years worth a two % inflation in one year. Why isn't brainard promising t o have zero % inflation for the next three years so that it can average to two % a year? And of course, they're not even going to get it down to two %, because it's going to stay much higher than two%. But again, what is so magical about two %? Mean, why doesn't she bring inflation down to one %?"
